Notre-Dame de Paris

The Notre-Dame district of Paris can be considered the historical heart of the "City of Light". Its origins date back to the early days of the city's birth, when the banks of the Seine were still marshy and wild. Over time, from the Île de la Cité and its immediate surroundings, this neighborhood has transformed and remains today a symbol of Paris's cultural richness and radiance.

In medieval times, Notre-Dame de Paris and Saint-Michel were centers of faith and knowledge. The imposing churches and narrow streets still bear witness to this era when religion and scholarship were intertwined with daily life. In the 17th century, the district experienced a renaissance with the rise of the aristocracy, and sumptuous mansions were erected along the cobbled streets of the Île de la Cité and the Île Saint-Louis. During the 19th century, the neighborhood underwent rapid transformations, transitioning from a center of power to a meeting place for artists and intellectuals. The Parisian bohemia found refuge in the lively cafes and picturesque bookstores of Saint-Michel.

Today, this neighborhood is an enchanting blend of tradition and modernity. Students and Parisians mingle with tourists in the bustling streets, while artists and booksellers display their works and offer literary classics along the Seine riverbanks, under the aura of the nearby Notre-Dame Cathedral. It is indeed this cathedral that inspired the writer Victor Hugo for his famous novel, interpreted many times over...

Our workshops at Notre Dame celebrate the atmosphere of this iconic district and the French spirit. Located near the grand and famous Cathedral, the venue blends history with modernity. It occupies the former artist workshops of the renowned contemporary painter Pierre Soulages, and it is in this spirit that we have combined artworks, manuscripts, antique herbariums, and modern touches, creating an eclectic and warm universe for your culinary experiences, reflecting our love for the art, culture, and soul of the City of Light.
