The Marais - 3rd.

The Marais is a historic district located in the heart of Paris. Its history dates back to the classical period when the area was covered with swamps and wetlands. During the medieval period, the area became a center of commerce and culture, with churches, abbeys, and mansions.

Over the following centuries, the Marais underwent several periods of transformation. In the 17th century, the district became a place of residence for the French nobility and aristocracy, who built many mansions and palaces. During the French Revolution, the Marais was the location of many historical events, including the storming of the Bastille in 1789. After a period of decline during the 19th century, the Marais then became a popular neighborhood for artists and writers in the early 20th century, with a bohemian community emerging around Rue des Rosiers.

Today, the Marais is a lively and cosmopolitan neighborhood, with many stores, restaurants, and art galleries. It remains a place of great historical and cultural importance, with many tourist sites, museums, and monuments.

Our atelier in the Marais is located just a few steps from the Place des Vosges, a historical jewel of the capital complete with unique architecture. We have brought a sober and elegant style to our Marais atelier, with classical and modern pieces, authentic herbarium prints, and an old map of Paris, all of which evoke our love for art, nature, and the city!
